Brigadeiro, our 2022 International Women’s Day brew
Brewed using a complex malt bill of ten different grains, as well as liquid cacao and lactose, this session strength stout is our homage to one of the national desserts of Brazil, Brigadeiro. The mix of speciality and roasted malt provides flavours of dark chocolate, toffee and treacle, while the liberal use of cacao and lactose brings strong notes of cocoa, and milk chocolate sweetness and texture.

We’ve gone all out this year on a very exciting and unique beer brewed by the women in our team – Frankie, Miranda, Maya and Hunter. In cask, keg and 440ml can is our very own Brigadeiro Milk Stout. Plenty of dark chocolate and toffee flavours from the huge array of malt thrown in (10 different grains!) as well as some home-made traditional Brigadeiro. Sweet, smooth and approachable at 3.5% ABV.
This beer has a personal story attached to it. We have a strong connection with Brazil through one of our team members and we are dedicating this beer to Dona Cida who sadly passed away in 2021. We’re also donating 10p from every can sold to the Latin American Women’s Aid. LAWA is an organisation supporting Latin American women and children fleeing gender-based violence.
In case you’re wondering, Brigadeiro is the dessert of choice in Brazil (a national treasure) packed with chocolate, condensed milk and butter – what’s not to love? From our research, we believe this particular stout has only been brewed once before in the US. So this is a UK/EUROPEAN first!
